I sit down at the HEBI ROBOTICS lab with two of the five co-founders, Curtis Layton and David Rollinson. We hear about HEBI spinning out of CMU, the vision they have for the place of robotics in the world and their robotics-as-legos concept. The technology they are developing is super cool, and there's a great support structure back into Carnegie Mellon (which the technology is spinning out of). This is a perfect example of why Pittsburgh is succeeding in growth of technology, and in incubating start-ups as engines of change.
